MC Performance Conditioning  have developed a number of specific services designed to help elite athletes train and prepare for their chosen sport. By chosing a scientific but holistic and individual approach to athletic conditioning MCPC are able to provide the athlete with a truly individual solution based upon their own unique demands.

Physiological Assessment

This is the starting point for any individual training program. The assessment tests are designed to measure all of the fitness components associated with the client’s sport. Typically the assessment will consist of - but are not exclusive to:

  • VO2 Max (Aerobic Fitness) Test
  • Blood Lactate Profile (to determine optimal training intensities)
  • Body Composition Analysis
  • Muscular Imbalance, Core Strength and Function Tests
  • Injury Assessment, Flexibility and Posture Analysis
  • Evaluation of Current Training Status and Desired Goals
  • Nutrition and Diet Assessment using Biosignature Modulation

The results of our unique assessment highlight the client’s strengths and weaknesses and allows us to formulate an individual plan of action based upon the clients individual goals. Progression is measured through re-assessments that we advise every 12 weeks.

Physical Training Sessions and Exercise Planning

MCPC training programmes are based upon the results of the initial assessment, and the key areas an athlete needs to improve upon. MC Performance Conditioning physical training sessions usually involve the following components:

  • Cardiovascular / Lactate Fitness Training
  • Strength Training
  • Flexibility and Core Strength Conditioning
  • Sports Specific Training (such as neck strength endurance for racing drivers and grip strength for riders, etc)

MCPC can also design 'circuit specific' fitness plans based upon heart rate data recorded during the actual events.
This allows the athlete to replicate the demands of competition during training sessions.

Competition Support

In the majority of top-level sports there is little difference between the best performers. Our role at each competition is to ensure the physical, nutritional and mental condition of our athletes gives them that extra advantage over the opposition.

Our competition support packages involve a MCPC consultant attending each competition to aid the athlete in the following ways:

  • Physical warm-ups before competing, taping and strapping and on-site sports massage
  • Ensure the correct nutrition and hydration methods are being employed
  • Analysis and monitoring of the athletes event performance

Nutritional Guidance

An athlete’s training and competition diet are an extremely important aspect in achieving optimal performance. MC Performance Conditioning's nutritional coaching sessions help the athlete to understand what fuels they need to take in before, during and after training and competition, how to stay hydrated, vitamins and supplements, diet and meal planning, weight loss and weight gain methods, and general healthy eating advice.

MCPC use Biosignature Modulation to pinpoint our clients' hormonal imbalances and refine their exercise, nutritional and supplementation programmes to an unprecedented level.

Heat Acclimatisation and Altitude Training

Our structured training sessions based in a heat acclimatisation / altitude facility help athletes to prepare for the increased physical stress of competing in hot conditions and at high altitudes where the oxygen levels are low. Training these areas is proven to enhance an athlete’s ability to maintain greater muscle function and improved aerobic endurance in hot climates and at high altitudes.

Structured heat and altitude sessions are a must for any athlete competing outside of the UK.
