Meet Mark

Meet Mark is a fully qualified Personal Trainer for over 10 years & a Strength and Conditioning Coach for 5, with multiple certifications through the NSCA, and is currently working towards becoming an ASCC (Accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach) with the UKSCA by April 2026.

With a background in professional football as an athlete, Mark brings first-hand experience of what it takes to train, perform and progress in high-performance environments before stepping away and going down the performance coach route.

Mark has worked alongside and learned from some of the leading Strength & Conditioning coaches across the world, gaining a deep understanding of how to develop and support athletes at the highest level.

Mark has supported & worked with elite level professional footballers, national-level netballers, horse riders, golfers, and some of the South Coast’s top emerging youth athletes.

You’ll find Mark delivering our Personal training sessions, Semi-Private S&C sessions, team S&C sessions & working with athletes on a 1-1 basis and looking to add to the MC Performance Centre services and client experience.

Meet Gemma

Gemma McGuinness is a qualified Performance Nutritionist who has experience working with clients ranging from the general population seeking to improve their health and body composition, to elite athletes aiming to improve their performance.

Gemma is passionate about helping people improve their relationship with food & build healthier habits that lead to higher performing lives which aligns perfectly with us at MC Performance.

If you're an athlete who lacks knowledge around fuelling for your training, competition & recovering efficiently then Gemma can take your nutrition to new levels.

Gemma helps people….

  • Build a food structure around your lifestyle/sport to support your goals with meal planning templates & resources.

  • Develop new recipe/meal ideas that are supportive of your schedule and ability

  • Foster a healthy relationship with food through education resources, support and progress tracking

  • Feel empowered as you develop autonomy through making informed nutrition choices each week.

  • Provides athletes with a Nutrition plan around their training & competition and goals.

Gemma delivers our Fundamentals of Nutrition course & Performance Nutrition course for athletes looking to improve their knowledge, fuel for their sport & recover efficiently.

Meet Kristen

Kristen is a full-time coach here at the MC Performance Centre and is a huge asset to our personal training service helping our members train with confidence, consistency, and purpose.

Originally from Perth, Australia, she moved to the UK 3 years ago to work as a full-time paramedic with the London Ambulance Service.

With a long-standing passion for health and fitness, she completed her Personal Training qualification with the the PFCA alongside this role & Kristen has since stepped off the road and relocated to Bournemouth and joined our team.

Kristen loves training, competes in fitness competitions and races around the world. When being coached by Kristen you can expect plenty of smiles, good vibes and great sessions.

PERSONAL TRAINER / PERFORMANCE COACH

Meet Ben Kaiser

Meet Ben, A UKSCA-accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach with a passion for athletic development and performance.

With over two years of experience working at Bournemouth University, he supports BUCS athletes across a range of sports and will continues to work alongside his role at the MC Performance Centre as well as bring his expertise to our S&C Services.

Ben holds a Master’s degree in Sports Training & Nutrition from the University of Madrid, where he gained hands-on experience working with Las Rozas CF. He also earned a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science from the University of Bath, completing a placement with Scarlets Rugby Club during his time there.

He is currently furthering his expertise by studying for a Master’s in Strength & Conditioning at Bournemouth University, continuing to grow both academically and professionally.

Outside the gym, you’ll often find Ben on the rugby pitch, where his love for the sport fuels his understanding of athlete demands from both sides of the game.

Meet Ben Knight

Meet Ben Knight! One of our Performance coaches here at the MC Performance Centre & also owner of Knight Rehab & Performance.

Ben graduated from Loughborough University in Sport & Exercise Science in 2024, gaining experience and insight into high-performance environments while working with Crystal Palace academy and Loughborough’s Performance and Development football squads as a Strength & Conditioning coach.

After spending 18 months working in Cardiac Rehabilitation, he couldn’t ignore my passion for sports performance, and wanted to find a way to balance it with my love for healthcare and medicine…

So, alongside being qualified in Sports Massage, Ben began a pre-registration MSc in Physiotherapy earlier this year to further develop his clinical skillset. He is also integrating this with his ongoing S&C development through the UKSCA with our S&C team here at the MC Performance Centre to support athletes recovery and performance.

Through Knight Rehab & Performance Ben offers sports massage, rehabilitation and recovery support to all of our members and athletes - all delivered with clinical insight through a high performance lens.

Outside the gym, you’ll find Ben on the pitch, in the kitchen or training himself!

Ben adds a huge value to our Performance team which allows us to deliver a holistic approach within our services as we have built out our multi-disciplinary team.
